I found this short article about Japanese Skincare – “4 Ways To Help Your Skin Look Great”. Top of the list comes diet and exercise pointing out that rice forms a large part of the Japanese diet. Second is a slower lifestyle which results in less stress and so promotes good health. Then there is an emphasis on natural skin care remedies which is something that I have often mentioned here before. The Fourth Way turns out to be an ingredient I have discussed many times – Phytessence Wakame the Japanese sea kelp which helps to build up hyaluronic acid in the skin. I found this article “Goodbye Dry Winter Skin” which is full of tips on how to keep your skin moisturized during the cold weather. “Taking the time to apply extra moisturizer or lotion to the skin is always a pain. Fortunately, there are some simple ways to treat dry skin and steps people can take to prevent dry hands from happening, or from getting worse”.

Tips include:

# Applying a little olive oil to dry patches on the skin. This will make skin extra smooth and add antioxidants.

#Using yogurt as a natural exfoliant to remove all dry flakes from the skin.

#Honey can be to be applied to dry lips, filling in the dry cracks and making the lips smooth.

A new book has just been published which aims to educate skin care professionals and consumers on general skin related topics. “The Skin Care Answer Book” is written in a Q&A format using non-technical language making it accessable to a general audience.

These nagging questions and many more are answered by Dr. Lees in The Skin Care Answer Book. The book addresses key topics to educate students, licensed estheticians and consumers. Chapters are organized by subject, making it reader-friendly and easy to navigate.
