Why Is Skin Hydration Important?

Posted on May 12, 2009 by admin

Skin hydration may not be something you think about very often, but we are all familiar with its opposite – dehydration. When we are dehydrated our bodies are suffering from a lack of liquids and this can have a dangerous effect on our health. For example our kidneys require large quantities of water to enable them to function correctly. What is not generally realised is that our skin is the largest organ in our bodies and when it becomes dehydrated the result is dry and peeling skin.  So skin hydration is important if we wish to retain a smooth and healthy skin.
